As Managing Partner of DanielJames, Jim Thomsen leads a specialized strategic advisory firm that works with founder-owned companies to accelerate growth and prepare for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. With clients across multiple industries and domains, including financial services, food and beverage, consumer products, and technology, DanielJames is committed to helping companies succeed.

With over 35 years of executive experience, including serving as President of Thrivent Financial, Jim brings a wealth of knowledge to his role. He is passionate about business strategy and understands that strategy development and execution are key drivers of value-creation. Jim holds a degree from Luther College and completed Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program (AMP).

Jim and his wife Kathy have been happily married for 36 years, have two grown children, and reside in both Arizona and Colorado.
